Autumn School "From Local to Global : Ecological Shifts and Adaptive Responses"

Looking to broaden your technical skills as a budding researcher in ecology ?
Interested in different fields of ecology ?
Join ECOTUMN 2026, our self-organized scientific autumn school from 12th to 16th October 2026. We will explore how species and ecosystems respond to environmental changes at different scales.

This event is open to all young researchers in ecology (PhD students and postdoctoral researchers). We particularly thank the LECA, the OSUG and the doctoral schools "Chimie et Sciences du vivant" and "Sciences, Ingéniérie, Environnement" for funding our project.

A Journey through Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes

Embark on a scientific journey to the heart of the diversity of ecology with ECOTUMN, a research school organized by PhD students at the Alpine Ecology Laboratory in Grenoble, France, from October 12 to 16, 2026. This immersive program is designed for PhD students interested in the impact of global change on ecosystems.

If you are interested in (among other things) understanding how biodiversity responds and adapts to global change through ecological and evolutionary processes, then this theme week is for you. The program includes a series of lectures by specialist researchers from France and Europe in fields as diverse as population genetics, community ecology, plant ecology, and functional ecology, with global changes as the main object of interest.

The week will culminate in a 2-day field ecology excursion to the alpine station on the Col du Lautaret at 2100m, an exceptional botanical garden and site of scientific experimentation and research support unique in France.

Practical information : This event is free of charge (excluding accommodation and travel expenses). We will cover all the lunches and bus travels to the Col du Lautaret. All talks will be held in English and you can benefit from training credits for your doctoral school.

Location :
