Autumn School "Exploring the Legacy and Future of Mountain Biodiversity"
Interested in different fields of ecology ?
Join ECOTUMN 2024, our self-organized scientific autumn school from 4th to 8th November 2024 to understand mountain ecosystems with an ecological approach !
This event is open to all young researchers in ecology (PhD students and postdoctoral researchers). We particularly thanks the LECA and the doctoral school "Chimie et Sciences du vivant" for funding our project.
A Journey through History, Evolution, and Environmental Change
Embark on a scientific journey to the heart of mountain ecology with ECOTUMN, a research school organized by PhD students at the Alpine Ecology Laboratory in Grenoble, France, from November 4 to 8, 2024. This immersive program is designed for PhD students interested in the study of mountain ecosystems in the broadest sense.
If you are interested in
- understanding the origin of mountain biodiversity,
- how it has evolved over time as a result of climatic variations and the impact of human use in the mountains,
- and how ecology can help implement conservation policies for these environments,
then this theme week is for you. The program includes a series of lectures by specialist researchers from France and Europe in fields as diverse as paleoenvironments, functional ecology, ecotoxicology and population genetics, with mountain ecosystems as the main object of interest.
The week will culminate in a 2-day field ecology excursion to the alpine station on the Col du Lautaret at 2100m, an exceptional botanical garden and site of scientific experimentation and research support unique in France.
Practical information : This event is free of charge (excluding accommodation and travel expenses) and you can benefit from training credits for your doctoral school
