Autumn School “Ecological Models and Beyond”

Looking to broaden your technical skills as a budding researcher in ecology ? Interested in the intersection between ecology and society ?
Join this virtual Ecology Autumn School from 16th to 20th November 2020.

This event is open to all young researchers in ecology (PhD students and postdoctoral researchers). We particularly encourage the participation of PhD students working in the laboratories associated with the FREE Alpes federation, which stands as our funding partner.

From ecological models to societal impact

The theme of this Autumn School is "Ecological Models and Beyond".

  • Throughout the week, lectures will cover
    • the fundamentals of ecological modelling with insights on the most recent updates in the field,
    • and introductions on major methods and tools, such as :
      • process-based modelling,
      • bayesian inference,
      • ecological networks,
      • phylogenetic
      • and biogeography modelling.
  • A complementary set of lectures will reach beyond ecologists’ toolbox to explore the interface between ecology and humanities.
  • There will be sessions with open discussion hours between all participants.
