The LECA Professors-Researchers based in Chambéry provide teaching in the courses of the University Savoie Mont-Blanc :
– Bachelor of Life and Earth Sciences.
– Master’s Degree in Environmental Sciences Applied to Mountains (SEAM)
The SEAM Master’s degree is awarded with the mention "Agrosciences, environment, territories, landscape, forest".
It is a scientific and technical master’s degree intended for the training of specialists in mountain environments.
- The common M1 year aims at acquiring the basics of environmental sciences. It therefore includes training on the compartments (water, rock, soil, living), disciplines (ecology, geosciences, geography) and tools (GIS, statistics, English) key to the study and management of the environment. The year also includes a first professional internship.
- Two courses are possible in M2 year :
- Course SEAM-EPGM.
This programme aims at immediate professional integration in the fields of equipment, development, management and protection of natural environments, particularly mountain environments.
The aim here is to train multi-skilled technical managers with five years of higher education, combining scientific, technical, legal and economic skills in these fields. - Course SEAM-ECOMONT.
It is a course oriented towards the research professions.
The teaching will be mainly oriented towards the fields of ecology of mountain environments in connection with the physico-chemical parameters of the environment which allow a better understanding of the functioning of mountain systems. The interactions between the ecological functioning of mountain environments and human societies will be at the center of the teaching, which implies a coupling between current observation of the functioning of "socio-ecological" mountain systems and retro-observations of their past functioning thanks to natural archives.
