Experimental and Field Ecology

Experimental and Field Ecology

Scientific manager : Sandra LAVOREL
Technical expertise : Marie-Pascale COLACE, Amélie SAILLARD

The primary vocation of the EET (Ecologie et Experimentations de Terrain) center of expertise is to collaborate on research projects and to support scientific research. We give advice for the design of field experimental protocols ; we can manage or participate in some of them depending on our implication in long-term scientific projects.

Our field of expertise covers biodiversity and ecosystem functioning and the following skills :

 Environmental measures :
  • temperature,
  • humidity,
  • light,
  • biochemical functioning of soils

Installation and maintenance of high frequency field sensors
 Measures of ecosystems parameters :

  • biomass production,
  • litter decomposition,
  • N and C cycling,
  • enzymatic activity…

Sample collection and extraction of environmental DNA (mainly from soils)
 Plant functional traits
 Plant identification and botanical releves
 Cartography of ecosystems
Training in these fields for our external collaborators
