AnaBM (USMB)
Molecular Biology Analyses for demographic studies and feeding behaviour of herbivores
Scientific manager for LECA : Glenn YANNIC
This technical platform for molecular biology analyses is shared with three other laboratories at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc : the Alpine Center for Research on Trophic Networks and Limnic Ecosystems (CARRTEL), the Inter-University Laboratory of Motor Biology (LIBM) and the Environments, DYnamics and Mountain TErritories Laboratory (EDYTEM). It is attached to the analysis platform ASTRE of the UFR Sciences et Montagne (SCEM).
The available equipment allows :
– The extraction of nucleic acids from environmental samples :
water, soil, sediments, faeces and biological tissues : blood, muscles, leaves, etc.
– DNA / RNA purification and quantification (single tube or 96 wells)
– DNA amplification by PCR
– DNA / RNA quantification and genotyping by real-time quantitative PCR
– Direct sequencing and sequence analysis
– Preparation of samples for new generation sequencing
Equipments :
- Biorad QX200 Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR™)
- AriaMx Real-time PCR System
- Laminar bacteriological hood MSC II
- NanoVue Nanospec Spectrophotometer
- Invitrogen Qubit 4 Fluorometer
- Gradient PCR system
